Sierra Foundation Announces Fourth Reno Turkish Festival
Reno, March 19, 2011 -- Reno Turkish Festival is returning to capture Nevada's hearts, minds and taste buds.
Hosted by the Sierra Foundation (www.sierraf.org),
a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering multi-cultural dialogue, the festival celebrates the diverse history,
food and music of this vibrant region in Turkey. The event is now in its fourth year and will run on May 22, 2011
at Wingfield Park in Reno.
"This year we have made many exciting new additions," said Engin Arslan, vice president of Sierra Foundation.
The festival will again immerse visitors in the sights and sounds of Turkey, old and new.
At each set, craftsmen will demonstrate ancient arts such as water marbling, calligraphy and
there will be performances of regional music, and dance.
The Children Whirling Dervishes and Turkish Folk Dance group will also return with their awe-inspiring performances throughout the day.
